Ask the people who were actually there

Post-event and per-session surveys sent only to the attendees who turned up, over WhatsApp and email, in the venue’s clock — so the response rate is worth something and the answers mean what they appear to mean.

Most post-event surveys go to the whole registration list two days late, over email, and come back with a nine percent response rate skewed towards people who felt strongly about the coffee. The results then get quoted in a sponsor report as though they meant something.

The fix is not a better survey tool. It is knowing who was in the room.

Sent to the people who attended

Because attendance is recorded per session, a survey can be aimed at the attendees of one session, one day, one track — or at everyone who checked in and nobody who did not. Asking a no-show what they thought of the keynote is how a survey teaches people to ignore your surveys.

Delivered where it will be opened

Surveys go out over WhatsApp with email behind them, through the same dispatcher and the same audience filtering as any other campaign. Scheduling is in the venue’s clock, so a survey set to go an hour after the closing session goes an hour after the closing session.

Questions from the same builder

Survey questions are built where every other question list in the product is built, with the same field types, the same conditional logic and the same Arabic handling. A rating question, a multiple choice, a free text, a follow-up that only appears when somebody scores below four.

Results attached to the person

  • Every response tied to the attendee record that gave it
  • Cross-read with ticket type, attendee type or sessions attended
  • Free-text exported with the ratings rather than trapped in a chart
  • Arabic and English from one survey, with the right direction and numerals
  • Anonymous mode when the question needs it

Being able to say that the four-star average came from trade visitors and the two-star average came from students is the difference between a number in a report and a decision about next year’s programme.

Sent while it is still fresh

A survey sent an hour after a session gets answered. The same survey sent on Monday gets answered by people reconstructing a week from memory, and mostly by the ones who were annoyed. Because sends are scheduled in the venue’s clock against a real programme, a per-session survey can go out as the room empties rather than whenever somebody remembers.

Exhibitors get their own version of this. A short survey to the forty companies that took a stand, sent while build-down is still happening, produces the feedback that decides whether they rebook — and it arrives before they have written the internal report that decides for them.

Common questions

Can I send a survey only to people who attended?

Yes, and to attendees of a specific session, day or track — because attendance is recorded per session rather than only per event.

Are surveys sent over WhatsApp?

Yes, over WhatsApp with email behind it, through the same dispatcher and audience filtering as other campaigns.

Can survey answers be linked to ticket type?

Yes. Responses are tied to the attendee record, so results can be read against ticket type, attendee type or sessions attended.
